When our client approached us with their vision for their backyard, they wanted an outdoor space that exuded luxury and offered a tranquil haven for relaxation and entertainment. They envisioned a modern, sleek luxury pool that would serve as the centrepiece of their outdoor living area. The addition of a stunning fire pit was essential to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for evening gatherings and year-round enjoyment.
Design and Planning
The design and planning phase of this project was crucial in ensuring that we met the client’s expectations and made the most of the available space. Situated in Manly, the property had unique dimensions and contours that required a tailored approach because store-brought pool shells just wouldn’t fit in the available space. Our team began by assessing the landscape and discussing the client’s preferences in detail. We focused on creating a luxury pool with a custom shape that would seamlessly integrate with the outdoor living area.

1. Custom Shape and Design
The pool’s unique shape was specifically designed to complement the contours of the available space, providing an elegant and efficient use of the area. This custom design approach ensures that the pool is a focal point of the property, integrating seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
2. Tiled Perimeters
We chose Ash Marblano for the pool coping to add a touch of sophistication and ensure durability. These tiles were chosen to harmonise with the overall design theme of the home and its outdoor spaces, enhancing the pool’s aesthetic appeal.
3. Stone and Concrete Pool Deck
Surrounding the pool is a beautifully constructed deck made of spotted gum, which matches the aesthetic of the property. This deck provides a sturdy and stylish area for lounging, sunbathing, and entertaining guests, making it a perfect spot for outdoor activities.
4. Internal Pool Lighting
We opted for three SLX concrete lights to create a subtle yet effective illumination that enhances the pool’s beauty at night. This decision was made considering the ample lighting provided by the adjacent entertainment space, ensuring that the pool area remains a highlighted feature without needing external lighting fixtures.
5. Water Feature Wall
We built a stacked stone feature wall with a waterfall using Thredbo stacked stone, seamlessly integrating with the entertainment area.
6. Integration with Entertainment Space
The pool’s proximity to the property’s exterior entertainment area allows for a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor activities. The strategic placement encourages interaction between those enjoying the pool and others in the entertainment area, making it perfect for gatherings and social events.
Enhancing the Outdoor Experience with a Fire Pit
One of the standout features of this project is the inclusion of an opulent fire pit water feature, which adds a luxurious feel to the outdoor space. The fire pit was strategically placed to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the area with moody Onyx pool tiles, and Jupiter coping complementing the sleek design of the home.
